- Panting exercises to loosen things up.
- I have a tendency to push at the beginnings of phrases, so I started out softly/lightly.
- I get lazy with descending as well, so I watched that.
- FOCUS ON GOOD PARTS, EMILY, GDI.
- I did a lot of shaking my head/jumping to wake myself up throughout this practice.
- "haaahhh" fogging up space in throat and all resonant cavities.
- Followed along with 2/5/16 Lesson. Sometimes plugging ears is helpful.
- Don't sing so much in the mouth. Don't feel sensation of pressure at the laryngeal level.
- Really think the pitch before going down.
- Followed along with 2/12/16 Lesson.
- Open upper/lower pharynx, but allow the sound to go up and out like a geyser, not just down into the throat.
Question: I'm finding more often that my sound feels shallow, or that I'm singing through a narrow space. This is also accompanied by a vibrato that absolutely refuses to lighten up and remains pretty wobbly. What are some things that I can do to alleviate this? It's really quite frustrating. I've tried "sob" or "haaaaahhh" and thinking of dilated nostrils, but they are no longer as helpful as they once were.

ReplyDeleteNose panting. Blowing buggers. Doing some descending wheee scales (Starting with dent in cheeks) Sneezy feeling. Super light unvoiced "kay" articulations then add VF vibration without changing character of "Kay"
