As of this past weekend, I'm 99.99% sure that my vocal problems are a result of allergies. So I've just been trying to be kind and inviting to my voice, especially with the opera coming up this weekend.
One thing that I've been able to be more aware of is my evenness of breath and when I can elicit pitch without having to change anything in my vocal mechanism. This is much easier with vowel unification, and after some experimentation, I'm finding that leaning more towards [ae] on every vowel is helping me with resonance throughout my range. Still takes some searching to find it every day though.
I'm making it a goal of mine to practice in shorter sessions more often throughout the day. I went back and read several chapters from Oren Brown's book, and I'm deciding that would probably be better for my vocal health anyways.
