So, the troubles that I talked about having last week in my lesson have sort of gotten worse as the week went on. It's been really difficult for me to release into my lower notes, but now it's starting to extend back into my higher range as well.
The sensation I get is something like a "fogginess" or weird lack of clarity I get when singing. I almost feel as though my voice isn't really "in my throat" but I can feel tension and weirdness in my throat. It's worse on open vowels. It's as though I'm always in a state of "I over sang so I can't release back into my speaking voice" even when I didn't sing previous to that.
This is a terrible way to put it, but even if I were to "push" for pitches/volume, it feels as though I'm not getting enough resonance, either internal or external. Another thing I've noticed is that I feel like I get winded a lot easier than I used to.
I've been experimenting with exercises that work on onset alone (i.e. "blip blip"), but I honestly have no idea what exactly is going on with my voice, so I don't know how to go about fixing it... Another thing is that when I ask people if my voice is sounding fuzzy or unusually quiet (because that's how it feels), they say it doesn't sound any different. But I know something isn't quite right with my sound production because it's uncomfortable and it feels forced even when I'm being "gentle" and stay in an easier range...
