Practice 3/30/16

Feeling pretty good this morning. As I was in the middle of working last night (you have a lot of time to think when you're folding clothes for three hours), I thought that maybe I was focusing too hard on trying to make/keep the sound up high, and that was adding unnecessary tension in the root of the tongue and the "lower" part of my sound. So I'm going to try and experiment with that today.

  • Elastic in the pharynx stretched high and low.
    • This helped me release my jaw as well.
  • fat tongue
  • furnace bottom
  • Don't push/force resonance.
  • Perhaps think about the space in the low with energy for the high.
  • Take your time! Focus on the good.
  • Suspension = deep breath; release back of pharynx wall. plug ears for extra help.
  • REMEMBER BALANCE
  • Calm inhales and exhales. No panicked breaths. Think down and out when exhaling to prevent premature collapse in rips and abs.
~15 min. warmup.
