Practice 10/13/16

Started out with some crazy acid reflux this morning, so I was a little dry starting out.

  • Maintain connection with the bottom. You tend to get shallow as you ascend.
  • Listen to 10/7/16 Lesson, and I read over yesterday's blog.
  • REALLY work on not tucking your chin in. It's become a handicap, and my singing feels/sounds different when the chin is up.
  • Slow 12345678987654321 on a single vowel, allow buoyancy. Plug ears and watch that you don't lose connection with the bottom in terms of "support."
    • Graduate to arpeggios.
    • When paying attention "sneeze space," "thumb molars," and "fish gills," watch that the sound doesn't get swallowed. Remember your unicorn horn. (Out of context, this sentence sounds really crazy.) Also, remember Elevator #2.
  • Did some wobble exercises to loosen things up as well.
  • I've also been noticing lately that not only do I tuck my chin, but I really close the mouth unnecessarily. Gotta remind myself to be free!
